There is no single cost per square metre that applies to every project. The total changes with the ceiling type, height, substrate, performance, geometry, service openings, lighting, finish, location and the actual installation scope.
Standard board, moisture-resistant board, acoustic tile and fire-rated construction have different components and documentation. Framing, insulation, fasteners and trims must be included in the comparison.
Working height, substrate condition, room shape, edges, curves, lights and access panels affect quantities, labour output and access equipment. These conditions should be described before a rate is accepted.
A headline m² rate can hide missing items. Request units, quantities, named references or equivalent criteria, waste, transport, tax, installation, finish, validity and exclusions.

Provide the area, height, substrate, room use, required performance, finish and address so materials, accessories, transport and installation can be assessed separately.
A square metre does not describe the system, height, performance, cutting, equipment supports, finish or transport.
